Congress cuts Ford-class funding over Navy objections, warnings about contractual problems, delays

A funding reduction for aircraft carrier research and development is included in both the fiscal year 2020 defense policy and spending bills, despite the Navy’s concerns that the cut threatens a major dual-ship buy contract and could lead to shipyard delays.
