DDG-51 Program Sees 4.6 Percent Cost Increase

Program costs for the DDG-51 Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer program increased by 4.6 percent, or about $4,303.3 million, to $98,327.5 million overall, according to the Defense Department's latest Selected Acquisition Report . The cost increase was due primarily to adding two ships, along with the development and integration of Standard Missile-6 Block IA Naval Integrated Fire Control (NIFC) Counter Air 2019 into the Aegis Advanced Capability Build (ACB) 16.
