Defense authorization bill 'definitely on hold' as Congress eyes exits

Lawmakers have put discussions on the fiscal year 2017 defense authorization bill on hold until after the November elections, according to multiple Capitol Hill sources who spoke to Inside Defense . Officially, spokesmen for the House and Senate Armed Services committees were unable to provide greater detail other than to say the bill is not yet complete. But several committee staffers, who said that many had been holding out hope that a bill would be done before lawmakers left Washington...
