Defense Department Checking Computers for Hacker Virus

Following three days of computer hacker attacks on some of the largest e-commerce Internet sites, the Defense Department is checking the hard drive on every one of its computers to make sure they were not unwittingly used during the attacks. A department-wide message will be sent out later today directing the services and defense agencies to examine each computer for the hacker virus, Pentagon Spokesman Rear Adm.
