Democratic Senators Urge President to Delay NMD Deployment Decision

Seven Democratic senators last week called on President Clinton to delay a decision on whether to deploy the developing National Missile Defense system. Instead, the senators said in a Feb. 9 letter to the White House that the Clinton administration should allow more time for further testing and to deal with the international consequences of fielding the system.
