DOD approves first pilots with CMMC requirements, plans RFP release this summer

The Pentagon's acquisition office has given its approval for the first contract solicitations with cyber certification requirements, and the rollout of the requests for proposals is expected in the summer, according to a Defense Department spokeswoman. DOD's Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification program is overseen by the office of the under secretary of defense for acquisition and sustainment.
