DOD Asks Congress To Create Homeland Defense Assistant Secretary Slot

The Pentagon last week sent Congress proposed legislation to create a new assistant secretary position for homeland defense. The new assistant secretary would "supervise" the Defense Department's homeland security activities, states a section-by-section analysis of the proposal, sent to lawmakers Aug. 1.
