DOD Asks Congress to Transfer $1.1 Billion to Keep Army Afloat

The Pentagon comptroller yesterday sent a letter to the leaders of the four congressional defense committees asking for the authority to transfer $1.1 billion to prevent the Army from running out of money as it awaits the passage of an emergency supplemental spending bill. Without the funds, the Army "is in near-term risk of having to stop essential activities both stateside and overseas," states the letter, signed by Tina Jonas.
