DOD IG: $78M in Army maintenance costs not verified

The Defense Department inspector general has determined that the Army failed to oversee contractor performance or invoices for a $77.8 million task order for vehicles and weapons in Afghanistan, according to a new report. The Army on Aug. 4, 2016, awarded vendor AC First the Enhanced Army Global Logistics Enterprise-Afghanistan, or EAGLE-AFG, cost-plus-fixed-fee maintenance contract with a $429 million ceiling, one base year and four option years.
