DOD Official Suggests Including Energy in Long-Term Defense Plans

Defense Environment Alert -- The Defense Department's long-term, defense-planning scenarios should more effectively consider energy-related issues, a DOD policy official told a Navy energy forum earlier this month. Otherwise, DOD will be unable to effectively analyze energy impacts in its long-term requirements and budgeting, according to Daniel Chiu, a director of strategy in DOD's policy office.
