DOD Seeks To Repeal Law Requiring Preservation Of Retired KC-135 Aircraft

The Pentagon is asking Congress to repeal legislation that requires the Air Force to maintain at least 74 retired KC-135E Stratotankers in case they are needed for Air Force Reserve, Air National Guard or active duty -- a revival the Defense Department argues could cost as much as $5.5 billion.
