DOD shifts funds for anti-drone systems for CENTCOM

Congress has approved a Defense Department request to reprogram funding to purchase four anti-drone weapon systems mounted to shipping containers for U.S. Central Command. A Pentagon reprogramming document signed Jan. 16 by then-Comptroller Mike McCord requests that Congress allow DOD to move about $20 million intended for the Army’s Hydra rocket program to the service’s Counter Small Unmanned Systems funding line for four Containerized Weapon System-Advanced Precision Kill Weapon Systems (CWS-A) .
