The Energy Department, Environmental Protection Agency and South Carolina officials have agreed to accelerate environmental cleanup efforts at the Savannah River Site, a nuclear weapons facility in that state, DOE announced today. The parties to the agreement have decided to complete cleanup work at the DOE site by 2025.
