Defense Environment Alert -- The Defense Department is floating final revisions to an 8-year-old environmental directive in an effort aimed at shifting the Pentagon's focus on compliance with environmental rules to codifying the military's current practice of ensuring environmental needs are working in concert with mission requirements.
