During Reconstitution, At Least One MEB Must Be Ready To Surge, Hagee Says

As the Marine Corps rebuilds its forces after fighting in Iraq, at least one Marine expeditionary brigade should be able to surge in the event Marines are needed in another operation, Marine Corps Commandant Gen. Michael Hagee said today. But a maritime prepositioning squadron must also be ready to support a brigade, as well as amphibious ships to provide the necessary lift, Hagee told reporters at a breakfast meeting.
