Explosive trace detection company pivots to hoverboards

With its agreement to purchase Zapata Industries, Implant Sciences is seeking to move from the increasingly consolidated explosive detection market into the emerging hoverboard industry, which an executive says has military and security applications. Implant Sciences announced last month it has entered into a letter of intent to acquire Zapata, which makes the Flyboard Air, a jet-fueled hoverboard.
