Eyeing $500 Million in Savings, DOD Moves Forward on Multiyear F-22A Deal

The Pentagon's acquisition executive has blessed Air Force plans to pursue a multiyear procurement contract for the F-22A, an arrangement that service officials believe could save as much as $500 million. Kenneth Krieg, under secretary of defense for acquisition, technology and logistics, on April 6 "approved release of requests for proposals for F-22A multiyear procurement," the Pentagon said in a brief statement issued today.
