F-35 PEO Says Program Fighting For Data Rights To Enable Competition

The Joint Strike Fighter's senior official said this week that the program does not plan to automatically choose Lockheed Martin and Pratt & Whitney as its product support integrators in the future and is working through legal channels to obtain the data rights it would need to force those companies to compete for sustainment work. Lockheed produces the F-35 airplane and P&W manufactures the jet's F135 engine, and both perform the majority of maintenance on their portions of the JSF...
