Ferguson: Russia reaching 'near peer status' in cyber realm

Russia is reaching "near peer status" in the cyber realm and the country continues to use a "sophisticated" government approach when collecting information that may pose a threat to the United States, according to a senior Navy official. Adm. Mark Ferguson said Jan. 14 during the Surface Navy Association's annual symposium in Arlington, VA, that his assessment on Russia is the country is working "very heavily" in the information domain.
