GAO Dismisses Sprint, Global Crossing Protests Of DISA Contract To MCI WorldCom

The General Accounting Office has dismissed a protest by Sprint Communications and Global Crossing of a Defense Department contract award potentially worth $450 million over 10 years to MCI WorldCom. In its decision, GAO says the protesting companies' financial difficulties, which have been well publicized, make it "inappropriate" for GAO to review the case.
