GAO examines prototyping benefits for Army programs

Government auditors analyzed the prototyping processes of a selection of Army programs, finding that some resulted in cost savings and requirement changes. In a report released June 27 , the Government Accountability Office examined 22 major defense acquisition programs to determine whether the Defense Department's research and development funds have been used for effective prototyping approaches.
