GOP Bill Would Replace FY-13 Sequestration Cuts With Workforce Attrition, Pay Freeze

A handful of Republican senators will file a bill today that would replace cuts during the first year of sequestration with savings found through federal employee attrition and pay freezes. Senate Armed Services Committee Ranking Member John McCain (R-AZ) and Sens. Jon Kyl (R-AZ), Kelly Ayotte (R-NH), Lindsey Graham (R-SC), John Cornyn (R-TX) and Marco Rubio (R-FL) have proposed a bill that would find nearly $127 billion in savings -- a little more than one-tenth of the mandated $1.2 trillion...
