House Approves Defense Appropriations Conference Package

By a vote of 367-58, the House today approved the $288 billion defense appropriations conference package for fiscal year 2001. House and Senate conferees wrapped up their work on the bill late Monday night. The Senate is expected to vote on the bill this week. It will then be sent to the president for signature.
