House authorizers seeking clarity on Navy's immediate plans for shipyard recap

House authorizers are seeking a more detailed outline of the Navy's immediate plans to recapitalize the four public shipyards and would direct the service to provide an implementation plan by March, according to committee staff. The provision, related to the service’s $21 billion, $20-year shipyard recapitalization and optimization plan, is included in the House Armed Services readiness subcommittee's mark of the fiscal year 2020 defense policy bill.
