House Panel Cuts $867 Million from FCS in Defense Authorization Mark-Up

A House subcommittee today recommended cutting $867 million in funding for the Army's Future Combat System, as the panel began fashioning the first fiscal year 2008 defense bill under the new Democrat-controlled Congress. The cut to the Army's premiere acquisition program is part of the mark-up executed by the House Armed Services air and land forces subcommittee.
