House Panel Looks To Continue JSOW Production Despite Cost Breach

Lawmakers are looking to continue production of Raytheon's Joint Standoff Weapon despite the Navy's decision to terminate the line and the resulting critical cost breach. The chairman's mark of the House Armed Services Committee's fiscal year 2016 defense authorization bill would add $47.8 million to help procure additional JSOW C-1 munitions at the minimum sustainable rate of 200 per year, citing concerns over the impact to the industrial base and the Navy's ability to meet the current threat environment.
