Interim Army Report on Chemical Munitions Sea-Dumping Expected Soon

Defense Environment Alert -- The Army expects to produce an interim report by the end of the month on the offshore dumping of chemical weapons by the military after World War II, according to a spokesman for Rep. Neil Abercrombie (D-HI), whose office is closely monitoring the issue. After receiving the interim report on the extent of past dumping, Abercrombie will decide whether legislation is needed to address the problem, the spokesman says.
