In Just-Released Tanker RFI, Air Force Eyes Medium and Large Refuelers

The Air Force today formally kicked off a long-anticipated effort to replace its KC-135 tanker fleet, asking industry to weigh in on medium and large tankers that could meet the military's aerial refueling needs. In a five-page request for information, the service states it is interested in examining industry proposals based on "medium and/or large commercial derivative tanker aircraft."
