Lawmakers Urge 'Strong' Nonproliferation Funding in FY-06 Budget Request

Four House Democrats wrote to President Bush this week asking him to include "strong" funding for nonproliferation programs in the upcoming fiscal year 2006 budget request. In their Dec. 15 letter, Reps. Ellen Tauscher (CA), John Spratt (SC), Marty Meehan (MA) and Chet Edwards (TX) call for expanding such programs to include projects in countries outside Russia and the former Soviet Union, including India and Pakistan.
