Lawmakers Want 'National Emergency Technology Guard' For Homeland Security

Sens. Ron Wyden (D-OR) and George Allen (R-VA) introduced legislation yesterday that would establish teams of volunteer science and technology experts who could be mobilized on short notice in response to terrorist threats in the homeland. The groups would become the "technology equivalent of the National Guard," states a March 20 announcement from Wyden's office.
