Leidos to acquire L3Harris' airport security businesses

Leidos said today it has agreed to acquire L3Harris Technologies' security detection and automation businesses for $1 billion in cash. The units provide screening products, automated tray return systems and other industrial automation technology for airports and critical infrastructure. Headquartered in Tewksbury, MA, and Luton, England, the combined businesses have about 1,200 employees, according to Leidos. L3Harris said the groups have annual sales of about $500 million.
