Levin: House Armed Services Committee Inserted Earmarks Into Defense Bill

The chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee today backed allegations that the House Armed Services Committee has inserted earmarks into its version of the fiscal year 2012 defense authorization bill. Sen. Carl Levin (D-MI) told reporters he believes allegations made in recent weeks by Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO) against House Armed Services Committee Chairman Buck McKeon (R-CA) and Ranking Member Adam Smith (D-WA).
