Lockheed Martin nabs $2.1B for THAAD interceptor production amid planned upgrades

The Pentagon has awarded Lockheed Martin a $2.1 billion contract modification to produce additional Terminal High Altitude Area Defense interceptors, expanding Army inventory levels as the Missile Defense Agency moves forward with a parallel effort to modernize the system through 2027. The latest award increases the total value of Lockheed’s contract for THAAD production to more than $10.4 billion, up from $8.3 billion.
