Lockheed Martin reports improved sales and profits

Lockheed Martin said Tuesday sales in its most recent quarter reached $12.9 billion, up nearly 11 percent from the same three-month period a year earlier. The world's largest defense contractor also said quarterly profit hit $1 billion, a roughly 10 percent increase over the prior year. "With an increasing DOD budget . . . the corporation is positioned for topline growth and strong cash flows in the future," Marillyn Hewson, Lockheed's chief executive, told analysts during a Tuesday morning call...
