Sales were mostly flat for some of the largest defense contractors during their most recent quarters, companies reported Wednesday. General Dynamics announced that revenue in its most recent quarter hit $7.7 billion, down less than 1 percent from the same three-month period the prior year. Profit too was largely unchanged.
