MRAP Reprogramming Would Fund Upgrades And Ultra-Light Research

The Defense Department has shifted $870 million to fund the purchase of Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicles along with additional upgrades for existing models and research efforts for ultra-light armor solutions, according to an Aug. 17 reprogramming document. The money will be taken from DOD's MRAP Transfer Fund for execution in fiscal year 2011.
