The Navy’s first-in class aircraft carrier, the Gerald R. Ford, will embark on a “service-retained” deployment with U.S. 2nd Fleet this fall. The Ford (CVN-78) will conduct training exercises in the North Atlantic with a coalition of partner nations, Vice Adm. Daniel Dwyer told reporters Monday.
