Navy Approves Third of Four Low-Rate CEC Buys

The Navy has cleared the Cooperative Engagement Capability program for the third of four low-rate initial production buys, according to the Defense Department. Calling the move "a key acquisition decision," DOD said in a statement today that the LRIP approval, granted by Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research, Development and Acquisition Lee Buchanan, sets the high-priority program up for full-rate production following the completion of operational evaluation and the fourth LRIP buy.
