Navy Awards Litton $478 Million Contract for LPD-20

The Navy has awarded Litton Avondale Industries a $477.7 million contract to build the fourth San Antonio-class amphibious assault ship, the company announced today. LPD-20 is the fourth of a planned 12-ship program that is designed to replace 36 amphibious ships of various classes currently in service. As prime contractor for the LPD-17 program, Litton Avondale leads a team comprised of Bath Iron Works, Raytheon Electronic Systems and Intergraph Corporation.
