Navy Eyes CVN-79 Construction Contract Award In May, After April OSD Review

The Navy is eying an award of the primary construction contract for the aircraft carrier John F. Kennedy to the shipbuilder in May, according to the program executive officer. Crucial to the Navy's ability to award the contract in that time frame is convincing the Defense Acquisition Board that the program is proceeding on cost and on schedule.
