Navy, Marine Corps reveal 11 new-start efforts in FY-17 budget request

The Navy and Marine Corps have 11 new-start efforts outlined in the fiscal year 2017 budget request, with seven of the those programs related to the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye, according to justification documents submitted with the budget request. The Northrop Grumman-built E-2D is a tactical airborne early warning aircraft and the Navy plans to spend about $94 million in FY-17 in research and development funding related to the system.
