Navy OKs CH-53Es for Flight

Naval Air Systems Command late yesterday afternoon announced that four Marine Corps CH-53E heavy-lift helicopters were resuming flight operations following a 14-day grounding of the entire fleet based on safety concerns. On Aug. 25, NAVAIR grounded the CH-53E fleet based on concerns about the aircraft's swashplate duplex bearing that arose after a Super Stallion crashed Aug. 10 off the coast of Corpus Christi, TX.
