Navy to purchase first future large surface combatant in FY-25

The Navy plans to buy the first future large surface combatant in fiscal year 2025, two years later than the service previously anticipated. The Navy detailed its procurement plans for the vessel in shipbuilding plan tables published online today that say the service will buy a total of 61 large surface combatants between FY-25 and FY-49.
