Navy Releases Long-Awaited NOC, Seeks To Expand On Maritime Strategy

The Navy yesterday released its long-awaited Naval Operations Concept, a document crafted to expand upon the vision outlined in the 2007 tri-service maritime strategy. Unlike the 2006 concept, which was 36 pages long and dealt largely with broad aspirations held by the Navy, the 2010 NOC -- which is 112 pages long -- "is less aspirational . . . it's an articulation of how the maritime forces can be brought to bear," Rear Adm.
