New DOD Cost Model Slashes Projected F-35 Concurrency Costs By 32 Percent

A newly adopted Pentagon cost model has lowered from $2.5 billion to $1.7 billion the estimated price tag to integrate design changes and repair flaws in the first F-35 jets, according to a new Defense Department report that forecasts the average concurrency cost for the first 289 fighter aircraft will be $6 million.
