New Senate Subcommittee Created to Oversee NSA's Terrorist Surveillence Program

The Senate Select Committee on Intelligence has approved the creation of a seven-member subcommittee to oversee the National Security Agency's Terrorist Surveillance Program, full panel Chairman Pat Roberts (R-KS) announced yesterday. The move means half of the full committee, as opposed to just two members previously, will be authorized to "fully understand the inner workings" of the so-called "wiretapping program," which involves domestic surveillance of suspect individuals without warrants, the announcement released by Roberts' office states.
