New Tool Designed to Assist Army Planners Calculates Stability Ops Requirements

An Army-commissioned tool has been developed to assist the service with one of the most vexing challenges facing war planners preparing for post-conflict and stability operations: determining how many troops are needed. The RAND Corp, at the Army's request, has developed a new computer modeling tool called the Stability Operations Army Force Estimator (SAFE) to help Army planners estimate troop requirements for post-conflict situations.
