PAC-3 Intercept Test Postponed Due to High Winds

The Army postponed an intercept test of the Patriot Advanced Capability-3 air defense system today because of rain and high winds at the test site, according to service officials. The test was scheduled for this morning at White Sands Missile Range, NM. High winds are a common problem at White Sands; they are considered dangerous because they could blow debris out of the designated, cleared test area, threatening high-flying aircraft.
