Pentagon Sees 'At Least One' Viable Alternative to Army's ARH

Defense Department officials have identified at least one viable and less expensive alternative to the Army's Armed Reconnaissance Helicopter, according to John Young, the under secretary of defense for acquisition, technology and logistics. "An Independent Product Team (IPT) determined that there is at least one alternative to the ARH program of record that will provide equal or greater military capability at less cost," Young writes in an Oct. 16 letter to Congress announcing his decision to cancel the ARH program...
