Pentagon Wants Conferees to Provide Full Funding for Intelligence Office

The Pentagon is asking defense authorization conferees to provide full operations and maintenance funding for the office of the under secretary of defense for intelligence. The Senate approved President Bush's $56.6 million request for the office in its version of the fiscal year 2005 authorization bill, but the House cut the figure by $20 million.
